Several Certified Athletic Trainers joined ATPodcast for a roundtable discussion of the NATA's Executive Committee on Education white paper report and recommendations of the entry-level master's degree as the most appropriate degree for professional preparation of AT's. Sara Brown, former chair of the ECE was able to join us and was helpful in providing insight into the process and decisions behind the recommendation. Also, Dr. Michael McGee of Lenoir Rhyne University talked about the transition his program made to ELM a couple years ago. A very informative episode. Thanks also to Dr. Pradeep Vanguri, Todd Hirsch, Brad Morgan, Kristi Messina, and Ryan Wantz for their participation!

I asked selected speakers at the Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society Symptosium in Nashville, Tennessee this weekend to summarize their presentations. Dr. David Liddle of Vanderbilt University Medical Center summarizes his presentation on running injuries. Dr. Gary Solomon, clinical neuropsychologist for the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titan and co-director of the Vanderbilt Sport Concussion Center discusses current research in Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. Emergency physician Dr. Warne Fitch describes some take-home points from his presentation, "Little Known Signs of Well Known Problems". Finally, Dr. Richard Duroucher discusses visual impairments and activity.

Pradeep and I talk reflect upon our 2013 and the direction of the podcast in 2014. I sing a little Julio Iglasias. Minimal educational content in this one... hey, it's not like you're getting CEU's for this anyway! Enjoy!
