Niki Dehner is an ATPodcast veteran, having appeared on the original 31 episodes released during NATM 2013.  She serves as Athletic Trainer at Francis Parker School in San Diego, California.  We chat about her experiences there as well as with international travel with US National Rugby teams.  We also touch upon the issue of licensure in California (and North Carolina, for that matter!)  A good, easy conversatoin!

LaShaunta' Jones serves as Head Athletic Trainer and Senior Women's Administrator at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio.  We chatted about her career and experiences in athletic training and touched upon a number of topics relevant to the working collegiate athletic trainer.  A very good conversation if I do say so myself!

Russ Fiore is in his 35th year at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island where he currently serves as Head Athletic Trainer.  He has an article entitled, "Plantar-Plate Disruptions: 'The Severe Turf-Toe Injury.' Three Cases in Contact Athletes" pending publication in the JAT.  It's available online now!

Russ also holds several patents for technology used widely in athletic training--namely bracing and rehab equipment.  He talks extensively about his experiences in bringing his ideas from concept to marketplace and the patent process.  Fascinating stuff!

Larry Starr spent 30 years working as an athletic trainer in Major League Baseball.  He was, in fact, the first Certified Athletic Trainer in the big leagues.  He talks about his most exciting career with Dr. Pradeep Vanguri.  An unbelievable story!

Dr. Frank Walters was inducted into the National Athletic Trainers' Association in 2010 after a long career which, among other things, saw him oversee athletic healthcare to Washington DC schools.  Dr. Walters was instrumental in the creation of the NATA's Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee.  He currently serves as the Director of Sports Medicine for Broward Health and joined Pradeep Vanguri for an informative and entertaining discussion on his career and the lessons learned throughout.  

Laughlin Memorial Hospital Certified Athletic Trainer Leanne Harkness talks about her education and experiences since coming to the United States from England 6 years ago.  Leanne also talks about balancing the demands of playing intercollegiate athletics and successfully navigating an athletic training education program.

Kelly Jo is Head Athletic Trainer at Cincinnati Ballet who has worked and traveled extensively in Performing Arts positions following her education at Eastern Kentucky University and Indiana University.  This is a very interesting interview!
